Layers and blending modes help to create the look of two images in one. It is a useful feature in graphics design and brings appeal to the illustrations. It is easy to navigate in layers and blend one image on top of the other in Adobe InDesign, let’s take a look on how it’s done.
Step 1:
Click on ‘Window’ in the top panel and click on ‘Layers’.
Step 2:
Alternatively, you can press F7 as a shortcut to add layers.
Step 3:
A panel will appear with all your layers.
Step 4:
You can lock, view and customise your layers according to your command.
Step 5:
You can drag the images according to variable positions.
Step 6:
If you want to blend and image on top of another, make sure that image is on the top layer than the picture you want to blend it on.
Step 7 :
Click on ‘Windows’ in the top panel and click on ‘Effects’, a panel will open.
Step 8:
Lower the opacity or use the pre-made blending mode to blend one layer on another image.
