A point type is a horizontal or vertical line of text that starts where you click and grows as you write. Each line of text is self-contained—it grows and contracts as you edit it, but it does not wrap to the next line. This method of entering text is helpful for adding a few words to your artwork.
Step 1:
Choose either the Type tool or the Vertical Type tool.
Step 2:
The pointer is replaced with an I-beam inside a dotted box. The location of the baseline, on which the text sits, is marked by a tiny horizontal line towards the bottom of the I-beam.
Step 3:
Place your cursor where you want the line of text to begin.
Step 4:
Enter the text here. To start a new line of text inside the same type object, press Enter or Return.
This is how you can enter the text of your choice in Adobe illustrator!
