How To Use The Direct Selection Tool In Photoshop?

The Direct Selection Tool picks and moves existing path segments / vector shape mask anchor points. In this tutorial I will teach you how to create posts for social media through the direct selection tool in Adobe Photoshop.

Select the Direct Selection Tool from the Toolbox.

Step 2:

Drag a route or form segment on the picture to pick it, or click directly on an anchor point to select it*.

Step 3:

To reshape a route or vector shape mask, drag a chosen anchor point or segment (by an anchor point).

Step 4:

Drag the direction point of a chosen anchor point to alter the amplitude and/or direction of the curve.

Step 5:

To remove a segment or anchor point, use the [Delete] key.

Step 6:

To select two or more segments or anchor points, hold down the [Shift] key while clicking.
