Using interaction modes, Pathfinder effects allow you to merge numerous objects. When you utilise Pathfinder effects, you can not change how objects interact with one another. See Using Pathfinder effects, combine items.
Step 1:
Select the group that contains the items you wish to utilise.
Step 2:
Place the items you wish to utilise in a new layer, then target the layer.
Step 3:
Select Effect > Pathfinder and a Pathfinder effect.
Step 4:
Choose Effect > Apply [effect] to easily apply the same Pathfinder effect again.
Step 5:
Choose the items to which the effect should be applied.
Step 6:
To apply a Pathfinder effect to a group or layer, first choose the group or layer to be affected.
Step 7:
Click a pathfinder button (in the bottom row) in the Pathfinder panel, or Altclick (Windows) or Optionclick (Mac OS) a Shape Mode button (in the top row).
