Adobe Illustrator is not like other graphic design and editing software. Whereas Photoshop, the second main component of Adobe’s Creative Suite, works with pictures on layers, Illustrator creates images using vectors (lines and curves).
Step 1:
Open a picture in Illustrator that you want to work with and organise your workspace so that you can see the portions of the image that you want to delete.
Step 2:
Select the vectors you wish to work with by clicking on the selection tool in the top-left corner of the tool panel. If you have made masks on your picture, this will make erasing portions simpler.
Step 3:
On the tool panel, choose the normal eraser tool. Click and hold the eraser to activate the scissors or knife tools, which cut or slice away whole sections of a picture.
Step 4:
To change the width and angle of the eraser tool, double-click on the tool properties in the top bar of Illustrator.
Step 5:
To begin erasing, click and hold anywhere on your picture and drag the eraser tool. The changes you are making are shown by a white area.
