How To Use Distortion Tool In Adobe Illustrator?

Scaling an item means enlarging or contracting it horizontally (along the x axis), vertically (along the y axis), or both. Objects scale in relation to a reference point that changes based on the scaling technique used. Using the Free Transform tool or a liquify tool, you may deform things. When you want to distort freely, use the Free Transform tool; when you want to take use of particular predefined distortions like twirls, puckers, or wrinkles, use the Liquify tool.

Step 1:

Choose the Scale tool.

Step 2:

Drag anywhere in the document window until the object reaches the appropriate size to scale relative to the object’s centre point.

Step 3:

To scale relative to a different reference point, click in the document window where you want the reference point to be, move the pointer away from the reference point, and then drag until the object reaches the appropriate size.

Step 4:

Hold Shift while dragging diagonally to maintain the object’s dimensions as it scales.

Step 5:

Hold Shift while dragging vertically or horizontally to scale the item along a single axis.

Step 6:

Using the Free Transform tool, distort things.

Step 7:

Choose one or more items.

Step 8:

Make use of the Free Transform tool.

Step 9:

Hold down Ctrl (Windows) or Command (Mac OS) until the selection is distorted to the appropriate degree.

Step 10:

To distort perspective, use Shift+Alt+Ctrl (Windows) or Shift+Option+Command (Mac OS).
