To design your poster, you may wish to utilise basic shapes and lines in Illustrator. The shape tool (#4 in our picture on the left) is capable of holding several forms. You may access those additional shapes by clicking and holding until a menu of forms displays. You can mask an image and create shapes.
Step 1:
When you wish to create one straight line segment at a time, use the Line Segment tool.
Step 2:
Choose the Line Segment tool.
Step 3:
Place the cursor where you want the line to start and drag it to where you want it to finish.
Step 4:
Set the length and angle of the line by clicking where you want it to start. Select Fill Line if you wish to fill the line with the current fill colour. Then press the OK button.
