It is difficult to rotate an item in Adobe Illustrator around a circle or a reference point without using the rotate tool. This lesson lays the groundwork for dealing with Adobe Illustrator panels.
Step 1:
Simply pick an item using the Selection Tool (V) and then double-click the Rotate Tool (R) in the toolbar to rotate it around its own centre point.
Step 2:
If the Rotate tool is not visible on the Toolbar, you may activate it by pressing R on the keyboard and then double-clicking it on the toolbar.
Step 3:
This will bring up the Rotate Tool Dialog Box. In the dialogue box, input the angle value (say, 30°) and then click Copy. (Do not click OK since doing so will rotate the item rather than producing a duplicate copy.)
You have successfully rotated an object. For more of a descriptive tutorial, watch the video and make sure to check out more of our tutorials.
