If your project includes several artboards and you want to export it to an earlier version of Illustrator, you may save each artboard separately or merge the content of all artboards into a single file.
Step 1:
Select File > Save As or File > Save A Copy from the menu bar.
Step 2:
Give the file a name and choose a location for it.
Step 3:
Click Save, then choose Illustrator (*.AI) as the file format.
Step 4:
Set the appropriate settings in the Illustrator Options dialogue box and click OK.
