Graphic Design Lesson Examples with Adobe Programs

How To Make Advertisement In Adobe Photoshop?

Photoshop is an excellent tool for graphic design, particularly for digital images that are solely shown on a computer screen, in addition to its eponymous job of picture editing. However, it is not its only purpose. Photoshop can also be used to produce beautiful print designs with the right knowledge and thought.

Step 1

Create a document with the appropriate size and print settings. In Photoshop, create a new document with the size 216 x 154 mm. These measurements correspond to the size of an A5 sheet of paper with a 3 mm bleed added to either edge. Set the Colour Mode to CMYK and the Resolution to 300 Pixels/Inch, since we will be creating artwork for print.

Step 2:

Create new guidelines to reflect the bleed area in Step 2. While Illustrator and InDesign have this feature, we must build it in Photoshop. By moving the mouse from the top ruler using the Move Tool (V) and the Shift key, you may construct a horizontal guide. Ascertain that the guide is 3 mm along the Y-axis.

Step 3

Repeat the procedure to generate guidelines around the document’s edges. Assure that each guide is 3 mm inset from its adjacent edge.

Step 4

To create a new Layer, press Shift-Command-N. Fill it with the Foreground Colour White (Alt-Backspace). Assure that the CMYK Sliders are enabled to use print colours.

Step 5

Create a new rectangle using the Rectangle Tool (U). Adjust its dimensions to 216 mm by 56 mm.

Step 6

Align the rectangle with the document’s left top corner. Dark Brown (C=49 M=74 Y=80 K=70) should be used to fill it.

Step 7

Add a new anchor point at the rectangle’s bottom edge using the Pen Tool (P).

Step 8

Play around with the anchor handles using the Direct Selection Tool (A) to build a beautiful Bezier curve.

Step 9

Select File > Place Embedded… and then the picture you wish to use in the advertisement.

Step 10

Move the picture around the document using the Move Tool (V).

This is how you can create beautiful effects and shapes in an ad in adobe photoshop.
