How To Create Gradient On Text And To Use This As A Stroke As A Border In Adobe Photoshop?

Using gradient to create beautiful borders for text in Adobe Photoshop is not a difficult task and it can make your text look amazing. Let me show you how you can do that.

STEP 1

Begin with a blank layer and some text; this also works for shapes.

STEP 2:

Right-click/Cmd-click In the layers palette, click on the layer name. Select the rasterize layer option. To choose the type, hold down the Ctrl/Cmd key and click on the layer thumbnail.

STEP 3

Make a new layer that is empty. Click the OK button. Ctrl/Cmd To pick the new stroke, click on the layer thumbnail.

STEP 4

Turn off the lowest layer in the layer panel; you should now see the outline. Using the gradient tool, create a linear gradient from foreground to background – black to white. Make a gradient out of the selection.

STEP 5

Apply the stroke again, this time with a 1 pixel stroke and set to outside.

STEP 6

Use our favourite curves technique to make the gradient seem like metal.

And that is how you create gradient borders on text in Adobe Photoshop.
