It is simple to create a new document with Adobe Illustrator and specify parameters such as width, height, and colour mode.

Step 1:

When Illustrator is launched, the Start workspace is shown. To open the New Document dialogue box, click Create new. Alternatively, you may just hit Control+N (Windows) or Command+N (macOS).

Step 2:

At the top, choose a category such as Print, Mobile, or Web. These broad categories get you started by configuring basic project settings, such as the optimum colour mode and resolution.

Step 3:

Consider the nature of your project before deciding on a category. For instance, choose Print if you are creating a flyer, business card, or logo; select Web if you are creating a web banner, social graphic, or blog art. If you are uncertain of the ultimate destination, choose Art & Illustration and modify your project’s parameters.

Step 4:

After selecting a category, you will see a list of presets for frequently used document types. Presets provide a convenient starting point for creating blank documents with predetermined size and parameters.

Step 5:

You may modify your document in a variety of ways, regardless of whether you used a preset. On the right, under Preset Details, you may define precise measurements, alter the measurement units and page orientation, and even include a print bleed.
