How To Change Centre Of Transformation In Adobe Illustrator

The object’s centre point is the default reference point. If you have several objects in a selection, they will rotate around a single reference point, which is the selection’s or bounding box’s centre point by default. Use the Transform Each command to rotate each item around its own centre point.

In this tutorial I will show you how you can find the centre of transformation and change it to your will for reflection, rotation or distortion.

Step 1:

Create a document in Adobe Illustrator.

Step 2:

Place your image.

Step 3:

Choose one or more items.

Step 4:

Choose the Free Transform tool.

Step 5:

Place the cursor anywhere outside the enclosing box so that it becomes and then drag.

Step 6:

The dragging point is your centre of transformation, drag it to shift the centre.

That’s it! I hope you found this tutorial to be simple and easy.
