Step 1:
Begin with two layers. The pattern picture should be on the top layer, and the main image should be on the bottom layer.
Step 2:
Make sure the top layer (pattern) is chosen in the Layers window.
Step 3:
Change the blend mode in the Layers panel’s top left drop-down option from Normal to Overlay. This alters how the colours in the pattern layer interact with the colours in the layer underneath. Experiment with different blend modes to see which one works best with your pictures.
Step 4:
Experiment with lowering the Opacity slider at the top of the Layers panel to alter the appearance of the pattern on the picture.
Step 5:
Add text of your choice by Control/Command T in your image.
