You will learn how to make a Low Poly Portrait and mask text in Adobe Illustrator in today’s lesson. You will love producing such artwork in Adobe Illustrator after you have mastered the technique.
Step 1
Create a new document with Adobe Illustrator. Place the picture on the artboard where you want the Low Poly Portrait to be created. In the Menu Bar, choose File, and then Place. Locate the picture and drag it to the artboard.
Step 2
Choose the Pen Tool and a colour for the stroke that will be seen on the picture. You may also adjust the stroke size if desired. Draw the outline of the picture using the Pen Tool first, then begin creating triangles.
Step 3
After you have drawn all of the triangles, select them all and go to the Pathfinder Panel. Click Divide and then Ungroup all the forms in the Pathfinder Panel.
Step 4
We will fill colour in our Low Poly Portrait using the Layer Panel and the Eye Dropper Tool.
Step 5:
Choose the type tool and enter your text.
