One of the most useful tools when creating graphics in Illustrator is the Offset Path Tool. The offset path tool may be used in a variety of ways. In this post, I will teach you how to utilise the Offset Path tool and go through a few of situations when it may come in handy.
Step 1:
Select any path. This may be an outlined form or text.
Step 2:
Go to “Object”=>”Path”=>”Offset Path”.
Step 3:
A dialogue window with Offset Path choices should appear.
Step 4:
Check the “preview” box in the bottom left to see the route as you change the choices.
Step 5:
The “Offset” parameter specifies how far the route will be offset. 10px indicates that the new route will be 10px longer than the old path. Negative numbers will cause the new path to shorten by the specified number of pixels.
