How To Use Stroke Panel And Stroke Settings In Adobe Illustrator

The Stroke panel (Window > Stroke) allows you to change whether a line is solid or dashed, as well as the dash sequence and other dash modifications if it is dashed, the stroke weight, stroke alignment, mitre limit, arrowheads, width profiles, and the styles of line joins and line caps.

Step 1:

In the toolbar, Colour panel, or Control panel, choose the Stroke box. This indicates that you wish to use a stroke instead of a fill.

Step 2:

Choose a colour from the Colour panel, a swatch from the Swatches panel, or a control swatch from the Control panel. Alternatively, you may use the Colour Picker to pick a colour by double-clicking the Stroke box.

Step 3:

If the object is a closed path (rather than a Live Paint group), use the Stroke panel to align the stroke along the route:

Right, Left or Centre.

That’s how you work with the stroke panel in Adobe Illustrator. Check out more of our videos to learn more.
