How to use Shadow and Blending Mode in Adobe Photoshop?

The blending mode selected in the options bar determines how a painting or editing tool affects the pixels in the picture. This blending option is guaranteed to improve the appearance of virtually any picture. Rather from just applying the Blending mode, you may make a few little adjustments to make it more subtle. You may just use the blending mode to get a beautiful finish, but experiment with the variants. In this tutorial I will teach you how to use blending and shadow mode in Adobe Photoshop to make a picture more attractive!

Step 1:

Start with your image.
Step 2:
Duplicate the layer and, at the top of the layers panel, set the blending mode to overlay. Immediately notice a significant change in the colours and contrast.
Step 3:
Reduce the opacity to a more natural value if you want a subtler appearance.
Step 4:
Select Filter>Blur>Gaussian blur to add punch and create a soft glow. Choose a quantity that complements your picture.
Step 5:
Use the shadow tool to add more effect to the highlights of the image and make it look more realistic.
