How To Make The Edge Soft in Adobe Photoshop?

Anti-aliasing and feathering may be used to soften a selection’s harsh edges. Anti-aliasing softens the colour transition between edge pixels and background pixels, thus smoothing the jagged edges of a selection. No detail is lost since only the edge pixels shift. When cutting, copying, and pasting selections to build composite pictures, anti-aliasing comes in handy.

Step 1:

Select the Lasso, Polygonal Lasso, Magnetic Lasso, Elliptical Marquee, or Magic Wand tool from the Edit workspace.

Step 2:

In the settings bar, choose Anti-aliased.

Step 3:

By feathering, you may soften the harsh edges of a selection. Feathering blurs edges by creating a transition between the selection and the pixels around it. This blurring may result in some detail loss near the selection’s edge.

Step 4:

The Elliptical Marquee, Rectangular Marquee, Lasso, Polygonal Lasso, or Magnetic Lasso tools may be used to make a feathered selection. Using the Select menu, you can also apply feathering to an existing selection. When you move, cut, copy, or fill the selection, feathering effects appear.
